In 2026, as a U.S. citizen who values democracy, tolerance, and the U.S. Constitution, I am finding I need to remind myself to breathe…

I started a webpage last year that I thought I would only look at for a short time, and yet, here we are. The peaceful nature of our communities is unraveling before our eyes, as the federal government rages out of control, assaulting both illegal residents and U.S. citizens.

If you feel the same way as I do or your political and humanitarian views are aligned with mine, I may have a resource that can help.

Over the last three to four months, I have emailed my Congressional representatives more than I have ever contacted an office in my life. I am using quick tools like Resist Bot, 5 Calls, Change.org, and the ACLU website, as well as Democracy Forward, to make my voice heard. At night when I can’t sleep, I am quickly signing important petitions from reputable organizations.

While many have turned their eyes and ears away from the news and political updates, the situation is becoming dire. I’m not asking you to stay up-to-date on every development, rather, we need to remember to take breaks. We need to give ourselves time to rest.

What I am asking is for you to voice your values. Do it in a way that works for you, whether that means posting on social media, talking to a friend, signing one petition, attending a town hall meeting, or joining nationwide displays of dissent. Find events at: https://www.mobilize.us/

The United States of America needs us. Stay safe, friends. May your endeavors be peaceful. I hope justice will be on your side. If you care about people from all walks of life in your community, I stand with you.
