JUN 11, 2026 — Headlands International Dark Sky Park & Chase

Hurry! Be featured in a live presentation by Melissa F. Kaelin, coming to Headlands International Dark Sky Park on Thursday, June 11! Photographers will be credited, and the event is open to the public. You’re welcome to attend the event and join us for a guided Aurora Chase afterward.

How to Submit: Send an email with “Headlands” in the title, and include a high-resolution image of your Aurora photograph with your name as you’d like it to appear, the date and location the photo was taken, and photography business name or website if applicable, to:

JUN 15, 2026 — Summer Deadline for Shape of the Sky Project

Enter a photo for consideration to be published in a full-color book of over 100 Northern Lights photographs taken in Michigan. To submit, please visit the project website.

How to Submit: Follow the 3-Step Submission Process on the project website: 1) Complete the Entry Form, 2) Write Captions for Your Photo(s), 3) Submit 1-5 Photos to the Email Provided

AUG 7, 2026 — Planetarium Dome Exhibit

First Fridays at Longway Planetarium! Be featured in a planetarium dome presentation inspired by the Michigan Aurora Chasers and given by Melissa F. Kaelin, coming to the Longway Planetarium on First Fridays in August! Photographers will be credited, and the event is open to the public with a ticket. Anyone can attend to view their photography on the planetarium dome!

How to Submit: Avoid cell phone photos please. Send an email with the title “Planetarium Exhibit” including a high-resolution image of your Aurora photograph with your name as you’d like it to appear, photography business name if applicable, and the date and location the photo was taken to: AuroraPhotoEntry@gmail.com
