Know a kid who loves Aurora? On May 14th, they can join the first Young Aurora Chasers club in the region! Take a trip to Longway Planetarium in Flint, Michigan, and get in o transporting one-night event under the planetarium dome! We’ll share our stories, explore the origins of Aurora and weather in space, and gear up for an awesome summer! A girl and her dog. 🥰 Aurora for Teens!! Do you have a student who’s eager to experience the Northern Lights? Or who has already caught Aurora and has taken an interest in space? Announcing the first Young Aurora Chasers club in the state — maybe the nation! A dock on the lakeshore! How I relax in the evening… Are you ready to catch the Northern Lights?! Even as we continue toward Solar Minimum around the year 2030, there will be many opportunities to see the Aurora, especially in northern Michigan and the northernmost states! It all comes down to learning the game, or watching for alerts in your area. That’s why I created the @miaurorachasers — to help you catch the Aurora in your backyard! Thanks to the @Mi_Sci Michigan Science Center for introducing us to Detroit skywatchers, and best of luck to you all! These photos were taken just north of the 42nd Parallel— not far from Detroit — in Pinckney, Michigan, at our #LiveChase, on November 12th, 2025. Happy Chasing!! 💥🌎☄️😎
